Gold in Dartmoor

An evidence-led survey of gold in and around Dartmoor National Park: the geology, the documented history, the legal position, and an honest assessment of where a person could realistically and lawfully look. The granite turns out to be a red herring. The gold is on the rim, and the ground the geology favours is the ground you are least free to walk.

The blow-up search

Four hundred sessions on one of the seven Clay Millennium Prize problems: can perfectly smooth fluid flow produce infinite vorticity in finite time? It did not work, and it was never likely to. What is here is the checkable record of trying, including the several times our own results turned out to be artefacts of the instrument.
